Site Submit

The handy Site Submit tool allows you to submit your website to a selection of popular search engines.

How To Submit Your Site

1. Log into the Member Centre and click on Website Builder found on the left-hand side menu underneath Entertainment.

2. Click the Site Submit link to go to the tool.

3. When submitting your Website address, make sure that you include the full path including the http:// prefix. You might want to specify individual pages rather than just the starting page for your site; for example both http://www.madeupcom.com/ and http://www.madeupcom.com/page2.html could equally be submitted as valid URLs. It is your choice as to where on your site the Search Engines should start their investigations.

4. Make sure that since the http:// prefix is already present in the 'Website URL to submit' field, you don't type this bit in again. (This is most likely to happen if you are copying and pasting URLs into this box and is something you should watch out for).

5. Enter your preferred email address into the text field labelled 'Your email address'. The Search Engines would use this address to contact you should they ever need to.

6. Click on the 'Submit' button. Your Web address (URL) is now sent off to the following major Search Engines: AltaVista, Excite, HotBot, Lycos, and WebCrawler for their analysis. Please be aware that you will not hear back directly from them and your site may take some time to show up in their listings.
